Perth County Players production will be directed and choreographed by Jennifer Mountain with Music Direction by Scott Mountain. Jenn Cooper will act as stage manager. For this production, the role of Dolly Levi has been pre-cast. All other roles are available.

Auditions will be held:
Monday May 22nd, Tuesday May 23rd & Wednesday May 24th from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
St. Pauls Church ~ 9 Douro Street, Stratford

Minimum 12 years of age.

Be prepared to sing an up tempo song of your choosing. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music if available. A cold read from the script will be provided at the audition. Memorization is not required. There will also be a short dance audition. No dance experience is necessary but you are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. All those auditioning should be prepared to stay for one hour.

The story revolves around a meddlesome widow who strives to bring romance to several couples and herself. The role of Dolly Levi in the musical was played by Carol Channing, who created in Dolly her signature role.

Character Descriptions for Hello, Dolly!

Horace Vandergelder: Well-known half-a-millionaire, widower, owns the Feed Store, gruff, set in his ways, authoritative. Vocal range: baritone.

Cornelius Hackl: Head clerk at the Feed Store, energetic, enthusiastic, and adventurous. Vocal range: baritone.

Barnaby Tucker: Assistant to Cornelius at the Feed Store, nave, energized, follower. Vocal range: baritone.

Irene Molloy: Owns the Hat Shop, widow, beautiful, smart, fun-loving. Vocal range: soprano.

Minnie Fay: Irenes assistant, nave, straight-laced, fresh, follower. Vocal range: mezzo-soprano.

Ambrose Kemper: Struggling artist, good-natured, accommodating, wants to marry Ermengarde. Vocal range: tenor.

Ermengarde: Horaces niece, whining, high-strung, wants to marry Ambrose. Vocal range: any.

Ernestina: Accommodating, good-time girl. Vocal range: any.

Rudy: Maitred of the Harmonia Gardens, proper, commanding. Vocal range: bass.

Miscellaneous character parts: Mrs. Rose, Stanley, cooks, judge, court clerk, policemen, etc. will be cast from the chorus.

Waiters/Male Chorus: Stage age: 12-58. Vocal range: even split of tenors/basses.

Female Chorus Members: Stage age: 12 & up. Vocal range: even split of sopranos and altos.
